Punjab’s Government, through its Local Government & Community Development Department (LG&CDD), plans to implement “Punjab Rural Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Project (PRSWSSP)” in 16 tehsils/districts with the World Bank’s (WB) assistance. LG&CDD has undertaken an environmental and social assessment of the proposed activities to address potential negative environmental and social impacts and to meet national/provincial safeguard requirements. After completing this assessment, we have developed the Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF). ESMF will be applicable to all the schemes/sub-projects under the Project to make them environmentally sustainable and socially acceptable.
